About Sarah

Sarah was raised in the Richmond area and completed her undergraduate studies in Kinesiology at the University of Virginia. In 2011, she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Columbia University in New York.

Sarah gained extensive knowledge in orthopedics while working at the Hospital for Special Surgery and received her Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) certification through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in 2016.

Sarah specializes in pelvic floor physical therapy and has completed continued education through the APTA Section on Pelvic Health, Herman and Wallace, the Institute for Birth Healing, and courses with pelvic guru Kathe Wallace.

Sarah founded Flow Physiotherapy in Brooklyn, NY in 2019. She relocated to Richmond in 2022 and is excited to offer her services to the Richmond community. Her passion is helping patients who are experiencing pelvic pain, urinary problems, bowel concerns, pelvic organ prolapse, and sexual dysfunction. She also specializes in treating patients during the pregnancy and postpartum period to help pregnancy-related pain and to promote an easier postpartum recovery.

Sarah utilizes her 10+ years of clinical training, her own experiences with pregnancy and postpartum, and her Pilates training in order to offer individualized, holistic care to all of her patients. Her treatment approach combines manual therapy and exercise therapy with an emphasis on Pilates based rehabilitation.

Sarah lives with her husband and 2 boys, and enjoys all forms of exercise, movement and being outdoors. She loves to nerd out on all things pelvic floor, birth, health, and wellness related including podcasts, conferences, and collaborating with other professionals.
